Why are our Liège wafels so delicious? It starts with our high-quality, all-natural ingredients and irresistible flavours. We pride ourselves on making everything in-house and from scratch using the freshest natural and local ingredients, complemented with specialty ingredients from Belgium. The dough for our famous Liège wafels comes from a secret recipe that dates all the way back to the 1950s. The dough you read right - not batter - with sugar pearls that caramelize in the waffle iron is made by hand using the same methods they used for 60 or more years. This means that each wafel is traditional, authentic and utterly delicious!

Legend has it the Liège wafEL (from the city of Liege, eastern Belgium) was invented by a cook of the Prince-Bishop of Liege in the 18th century. The Prince-Bishop requested that his chef take the newly invented "pearl sugar" and create a special treat with it. Inspiration struck, and the chef had the brilliant idea to mix the sugar and some vanilla into a rich dough and cook it as a wafel. Simply smelling it baking, the Prince-Bishop was delighted, and his love for this creation helped quickly popularize it within Liege and Belgium.
